ABOUT THE ARTIST

Ann Goldberg graduated from Boston University with a BFA in painting.  Shortly after graduation she pursued a successful career in dance for several years.  Ann took a 13 year hiatus from painting until she started taking life drawing classes from an adult education center.  She began painting in oils and studied plein air painting with David P Curtis of Gloucester , Ma.  Ann has studied pastels with Jeanne Rosier Smith and taken many workshops with internationally known pastel artists, including, Jacob Aguiar, Sally Strand and Kim Lordier.
Attracted to their brilliant colors and immediacy of use, Ann started using pastels.  "I immediately fell in love with them, the ability to layer colors without the need for drying time, the different textures achievable in minimal time , and of course, no brush cleaning".   Although, Ann paints in oil, "Pastel remains my true passion".

Ann has taught workshops and given pastel demos at the Rockport Art Association and Museum as well as at the Canton Art Association.  She is currently teaching at the Danvers Art Association.
